Photo Guest Book Fun

We have been doing Photo Guest Books for several years. We had been using an old school Polaroid Instamatic Camera and Polaroid film to create the images that we would put into one of our Addesso albums. (check these out at www.addessoalbums.com) Guests would then sign around their image, and at the end of the night, we would give the book to the bride and groom to enjoy! It has always been a hit, and we love doing it! Then, this summer, we found out that the film was being discontinued.....NUTS! We invested in a small (about the size of a boom box) digital photo printer, and continued doing the photo guest books, just with different technology. It worked, but there is just something fun watching your image slowly appear on the Polaroid film, and something cool about the retro feel of the Instamatic Camera. Then eureka! I just found out that due to overwhelming demand, the Polaroid film will be available in 2010! I think what we will do, is give our clients the choice, to have the images taken in either the digital or Polaroid format. It will be interesting to see what people will prefer. As for me, well, those who know me already know my choice. OutKast says it best 'Shake It Like A Polaroid Picture!'

To Theme or Not To Theme

The current issue of Wedding Day magazine is out and features fairy tale and theme weddings. I was asked to write an article about planning a themed wedding - so if you are contemplating a theme for your big day, be sure to check this issue out! I wanted to share a few other thoughts that didn't make it into the article. I would shy away from asking the guests to dress for the wedding to fit your theme. Trust me, Grandma is not going to know what to wear to your Lord of the Rings themed wedding, nor will she, and probably others think its a really cool idea. You don't want to require guests to possibly have to go out and purchase something to wear, that they would ordinarily never buy, nor wear, or ever wear again! If you really really want guests to comply to a specified dress code, make it an easy one - for instance - requesting everyone wear off white to your beach wedding. Chances are, they will be able to wear the clothes again, or best case scenario, already have them in their closet!
